Junkfish is looking for a talented game designer to join our growing team based in Singapore. As part of the Singapore team you will be working directly with other departments on small agile titles as well as assisting our broader international team on the company's larger development projects. As a game designer, you will be tasked with planning and refining gameplay systems as well as maintaining and balancing already completed content. A passion for games is essential, as you will work closely with the design lead, providing feedback to various game design features and contributing your own ideas and solutions. Adaptability is key, as you should be able to take on a wide range of design tasks and iterate quickly on feedback from the team and community.

Concepting game play systems and assisting with their implementation into the project.
Creating documentation, function specs, diagrams and any other supporting material to aid art, programming, audio and UI departments.
Gameplay testing and fine-tuning.
Gathering and acting upon both internal development team, focus testing and community feedback.
Work with design team and other developers to realize a project's creative vision
Narrative work, such as writing in game text and dialogue.
Skills & Requirements:
Adept at working within an industry standard game engine such as Unreal, Unity or comparable.
Strong pen and paper design skills can convey ideas well both verbally and in documentation.
Skilled at creating and maintaining spreadsheets.
Being able to take on and provide constructive feedback.
Knowledgeable of the industry as a whole and can discuss mechanics found in other titles.
Prior Game Design experience at a studio is ideal, but for a promising candidate, we will consider an entry-level position.
An Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field, or alternatively, someone with an extensive modding or indie games background.
Design experience on a variety of different game genres.
Knowledgeable of mobile games development and the mobile market.
Scripting experience, either with text based or visual scripting tools.
Experience working with project planning tool like Trello and Jira.
Any previous work on a live service title and familiarity with back end user management systems such as Playfab.
Experienced with version management software such as Perforce.
Used to working in a remote setup; we generally use a mixture of Teams, Discord and Google Documents for daily team communications.
Familiar with Junkfish’s existing games.
Portfolio Submissions with examples of previous work are essential. These can take the form of a portfolio site, videos of past work, documentation of gameplay systems, etc. Additional Information
Location & Hours: The studio is offering a hybrid mix alternating between working from home and still maintaining an office setting for closer collaboration. Working hours would be 9-6 in the Singapore Standard Time Zone.
