Junkfish is looking for a Technical Manager to join our Scottish BAFTA nominated development team located across the UK and Singapore. As a technical manager, you will be required to autonomously develop network & infrastructure related functions along with the lead programmer. You will implement scale-able networking features and tools that will allow players to communicate with the server on a large scale, handle maintenance of the game and provide/set up analytical tools for the business/projects.
Day-To-Day
Set-Up and maintain the technical infrastructure of the company (including game security systems and scheduling server maintenance)
Ensure backend architectures are well designed, built, maintained and scalable.
Determine what technology and service providers are best suited for each project; understand the engine, middleware and their constraints.
Manage all backend services including budgeting, cost optimization, escalation/handling of issues and correspondence with cloud providers
Manage all aspects of technical risks with proactive implementation of risk mitigation strategies
Vendor management: technical feasibility analyses, cost negotiations, integration and support
Work alongside the programming lead to help improve processes and identify solutions for infrastructure based problems.
Review source code across multiple projects to ensure methodology and processes are standardized, scalable and efficient and advise teams on best practices..
Identify technical risks on projects and develop contingency plans to put into place with the team.
Propose solutions to improve the development tools of projects in the studio
Working with the product manager to implement analytical tools across all game services.
Need To Have
3 year(s) or more relevant experience in the games or other equivalent software industry.
Experience in setting up analytical tools and metrics for service based games.
Self motivated and proactive.
Good verbal and written english communication skills.
Must be able to work on multiple projects at the same time whilst remaining organized and maintaining a high regard for detail.
Proficiency in C#.
Experience in player management systems, analytical tools and source control.
Nice To Have
Experience with playfab cloudscript.
