UI/UX Designer - Team Junkfish

Junkfish is looking for a talented UI/UX designer to join our Scottish BAFTA nominated development team in the UK. You will have the opportunity to join our expanding team to work on the multiplayer sequel to our cult-classic horror game, Monstrum 2. As the UI/UX designer, you will be responsible for improving upon the game's existing user experience and developing further content as we continue to expand the project. We would also like to focus on making player onboarding as smooth and as polished as possible. This role will tie in closely with Art, Design, Programming and Audio teams so we are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills and can be the vision holder for the games UI systems and UX experience.

Working closely with the art team, product manager, designer and programmers, to define, develop, and create UX solutions such as wireframes, user flows and interactive mockups.
Finding creative ways to solve UI/UX problems (e.g usability, findability)
Creating visually appealing, user-friendly, consistent, and crisp user interface elements (e.g. menus, buttons, icons, animation, etc)
Play the game regularly to ensure design features are implemented to specification
Keeping up-to-date and communicating on the latest trends and influences in UI/UX for games and beyond, and sharing your findings with the team
Driving and participating in playtests as interviewers and gathering feedback from players to improve the playability of our games
Establishing guidelines to ensure consistency in UX design across the different products and user touch points.
Working closely with the Product Owner to ensure all design work meets user needs & business requirements
Skills & Requirements
Strong communication skills, and proven experience in user interface and user experience design for games.
A general understanding of and interest in game design.
Deep knowledge of usability and design best-practices as they relate to interface design.
Familiarity with Photoshop.
A well-developed sense of colour and composition and high regard for detail.
At least one shipped game as a Unity developer.
Experience with working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
Experience with Adobe Illustrator / After Effects.
An Undergraduate Degree in a relevant field.
Design experience on a variety of different game genres.
Experienced with version management software such as Perforce or TortoiseSVN.
Familiar with Junkfish’s existing games.
