Repel the Human Invasion – Team Junkfish Announces Alien Turn-Based Strategy Game “Attack of the Earthlings”

It’s Meat Jim, But Not as We Know it, Turn Human Flesh into Alien Muscle in Team Junkfish’s Dark Comic Strategy Game

Dundee, Scotland – Wednesday, May 31, 2017 – Scottish independent developer Junkfish today announced that its science-fiction turn based strategy release – Attack of the Earthlings, will launch on Steam for PC in late summer 2017. In Attack of the Earthlings, human invaders have travelled light years to Planet X13 and parked a gigantic space-drill to mine for fossil fuel reserves, sip the odd margarita in the sun and hunt big bugs. Combining turn-based combat and stealth in a dark comedic single player campaign, take control of the “Swarmers”, a highly aggressive insectoid species, who must convert human flesh into alien muscle, evolve their units and even find the time to gatecrash a birthday party as they put a stop to the Earthlings’ interplanetary assault.

“Attack of the Earthlings has been a breath of fresh air for Junkfish. After two years working on a survival horror title, a pretty serious affair, the whole team wanted a chance to work on something we could inject a little silliness into.” Said Simon Doyle, Co-Founder of Team Junkfish. “We’re all big fans of British comedies like “The IT Crowd” and “Father Ted” and wanted to try to bring a little of this love into our next project. At the same time, we were playing and enjoying other Turn-based Strategy titles like “Invisible, Inc.” and “XCOM”, the idea to try a little alchemy with the two influences bubbled up pretty naturally.”

Galactoil, a comically dysfunctional interstellar energy corporation, are hell-bent on harvesting the known universe and will drill anything worth a dollar in its incessant quest for profit. However, their latest foray into energy exploration on the Planet X13 has landed them in a bit of a pickle. They’ve unwittingly flattened a native species home and now the surviving “Swarmers” are out for blood.

To put a stop to invasion, your Swarmers must plan attacks carefully, emerging from vents and lockers to take the human prey by surprise, and ambush multiple enemies at once to remain undetected. Consume your unsuspecting enemies and use their biological matter to build your own army of flesh eating beasties. The more earthlings killed, the more corpses can be consumed and transformed into new units with specialized roles and unique abilities. You must fight your way up Galactoil’s interplanetary drill, through absurd environments and passing quirky characters, with the goal of defeating the ultimate enemy: upper management!
